Bodymatters is a Stafford accident repair centre and car body shop specialising in accident damage, insurance repairs, bodywork and paintwork for cars and vans. We repair collision and crash damage for private motorists, insurance customers and fleets, from a dented panel or scratched bumper through to structural repairs and full refinishing.
We look after people as carefully as we look after vehicles. You get plain-English advice from the first call, clear estimates, help dealing with your insurer about repair authority, useful updates while the work is under way and courtesy-vehicle support for qualifying repairs. High-quality repairs are backed by documented checks, a two-person final inspection and written guarantees, with Hyundai Approved and electric and hybrid capability. ADAS calibration and four-wheel alignment are available where required as part of the repair process.
An accident is stressful and the insurance side can be confusing. Our team explains what happens next in ordinary language, does the repair-related liaison for you where we can, and keeps you informed while your vehicle is with us. How often we are in touch depends on the repair and the circumstances rather than a fixed schedule.
Call us on 01785 229162 or send photographs through Price My Repair and we will talk through what has happened in plain English. We will explain whether the damage looks suitable for a private repair or an insurance repair, what to do if the vehicle may be unsafe to drive, and what we need in order to prepare an estimate.
We explain the routes available to you: paying privately, claiming under your own policy, or an eligible non-fault route where the responsible third party is identified and liability and recovery can be established. We set out what each route usually involves so you can decide. We provide repair and claims-process support rather than legal, insurance or financial advice.
For suitable repairs we accept, we prepare the estimate and supporting evidence and liaise with your insurer or claims provider about repair authority, supplementary authority and invoicing. Approval and applicable policy terms rest with that organisation, so we cannot promise what will be authorised.
We keep you informed while your vehicle is with us, from booking through to completion. Update timing depends on the repair, parts supply, authorisation and any specialist operations, so we do not promise a fixed frequency. You are always welcome to call the team and ask where your vehicle is up to.
Collision damage can extend behind the visible panel. If dismantling reveals more damage, we document it, revise the repair plan and obtain the appropriate authority before carrying out additional chargeable work. We will explain why a part is on back order, why an authority decision is outstanding and how either may affect the expected completion date.
A complimentary courtesy vehicle is supplied during qualifying repairs, and eligible non-fault customers may have access to a like-for-like replacement vehicle. We arrange the insurance and keep the handover simple. Vehicle type, driver eligibility, policy or claim route and availability apply.
Before handover the repair receives documented checks and a two-person final inspection. When you collect the vehicle we walk you through the work carried out, any ADAS calibration or wheel alignment completed, and the written guarantee that applies: five years on repair workmanship and three years on paintwork, subject to its terms and exclusions.
Bodymatters provides repair and claims-process support and does not give legal, insurance or financial advice. Insurer approval, policy terms and eligibility for excess contribution, courtesy vehicles and non-fault routes remain subject to the relevant insurer or claims provider and your individual circumstances.

Whatever your accident repair circumstances, we will help you identify the most suitable repair route available to you and manage the vehicle repair process from start to finish.
On eligible insurance repairs we can contribute 7% of the authorised repair cost excluding VAT towards your excess, with a minimum of £150 and a maximum of £750. It applies where you contact us directly, choose Bodymatters, and the repair is authorised and completed by us. The final amount is confirmed after eligibility checks and is applied to the repair or excess rather than paid as cash.
Check your excess contributionWe supply a complimentary courtesy vehicle during qualifying repairs so you can keep moving while your vehicle is with us. Vehicle type and availability may vary.
For an eligible non-fault accident where the responsible third party is identified and liability and recovery can be established, we can manage the vehicle repair claim and liaise with the at-fault party's insurer or appointed claims service, so you do not need to make the vehicle repair claim under your own policy. You must still report the incident to your own insurer in line with your policy. If you are not claiming under your own policy, you should clearly tell your insurer that the report is notification only and that you are not asking them to make or manage the vehicle repair claim. Subject to liability, eligibility and availability, you may receive a like-for-like replacement vehicle.
Non-fault and insurance claim helpFrom private repairs and policy claims to eligible non-fault accidents, Bodymatters will help you find the right route and keep the vehicle repair process moving.
The exact route depends on your policy and whether the accident was fault or non-fault. Bodymatters can explain the vehicle-repair steps and liaise with the relevant insurer or claims provider.
If it may be unsafe to drive, stop using it and arrange recovery. Emergency situations should go to the emergency services.
Follow the notification requirements in your policy. For a claim under your own policy, contact the insurer with the policy and incident details. For an eligible non-fault route managed outside your own policy, still notify your own insurer and clearly state that the report is notification only and that you are not asking it to make or manage the repair claim.
Give the insurer or claims provider: Bodymatters, Unit 8, Tollgate Drive, Tollgate Industrial Estate, Stafford, ST16 3HS; 01785 229162. Ask it to confirm any policy-specific excess, contribution limit, courtesy-car condition or other term that applies when choosing a non-network repairer.
Then call Bodymatters on 01785 229162 or email enquiries@bodymatters-uk.com with the reference, vehicle registration, contact details, damage description and photographs if available.
Bodymatters will inspect the damage as needed, prepare the repair estimate and supporting information, and liaise with the relevant insurer or claims provider. The estimate may change if dismantling reveals hidden damage, and repairs start only after the required customer or provider authorisation.
Once authorised, Bodymatters will agree the booking and expected repair route. A complimentary courtesy vehicle may be available for qualifying repairs, and eligible non-fault customers may have access to a like-for-like replacement vehicle. Vehicle type, driver eligibility, policy or claim route and availability apply. Collection or delivery may be arranged within the existing service radius subject to circumstances and availability.
Insurance policy wording and individual circumstances vary. Bodymatters provides repair and claims-process support but does not give legal or insurance advice.
